
Existuje jakási firma 800 CEO Read, která se zabývá vším možným okolo business knih neboli, jinak řečeno, knih určených pro podnikatele a manažery. Je asi dostatečně kvalifikována pro to, aby posoudila jejich vnitřní hodnotu. Což je přesně to, co učinila: Jack Covert a Todd Sattersten napsali knihu "100 nejlepších business knih všech dob" (The 100 Best Business Books of All Time), která vyšla v roce 2009 ve vydavatelství Portfolio.
Základním kritériem toho, aby se kniha ocitla na seznamu, byl, tvrdí autoři, její obsah: přináší kniha nějakou myšlenku a nakolik dobře je tato myšlenka odůvodněna? Druhým kritériem byla aplikovatelnost myšlenky v dnešním businessu: je možné a užitečné to tak dělat? Proto se v přehledu neobjevily knihy, které, ač ve své době byly revolučními, jsou, podle autorů, mimo mísu dnešní doby. Třetím kritériem pro zařazení na seznam byla čtivost a srozumitelnost knihy.
Autoři nejen, že vytvořili prostý seznam, ale ke každé knize dodali její minirecenzi obsahující základní ideu, proč je tato idea důležitá a jak to může manažerům a podnikatelům pomoci v jejich práci, a nakonec přidali i doporučení na další obsahově podobné či související knihy.
Já tady přináším, jenom tak pro vaši inspiraci, onen seznam, a to rozdělný podle jeho autorů do určitých kategorií. Jak nahlédnete, některé z knih vyšly i v češtině. Je téměř jisté, že Vy osobně byste některé knihy z onoho seznamu "nejlepších a aktuálních" vyhodili a jiné naopak do něj zařadili. Je také možné, že byste tam zařadili i další kategorie knih, které by si manažeři rozhodně měli přečíst. Jasně, nejsme Američané a každý z nás má za sebou jinou intelektuální i zkušenostní průpravu. Určitě bychom my všichni společně vytvořili relevantnější seznam pro naše prostředí i dobu. Přesto se domnívám, že i tak může být uvedený seznam alespoň pro někoho v něčem podnětným.
